Intimate Apparel starts in 1905 NYC. The story takes place in a tenement building, and during this time the Panama Canal was actual built. It was built off the labor of black and immigrant people. 85% of the men who worked on the canal fell ill, and there were hundreds of casualties all for America economic and political gain.
